As part of the transformative redevelopment of Dexcom Stadium in Galway, the Connacht Rugby High Performance Centre delivers a training environment designed to elevate elite athletic performance while supporting the identity and ambitions of Connacht Rugby.
VHA proudly led the architectural and interiors design for Connacht High Performance centre at Dexcom Stadium, a training facility dedicated to supporting elite rugby development in the west of Ireland.
Architecturally, the high performance adopts a clean, modern language that integrates seamlessly with the broader stadium development. Located adjacent to the main Spectator stand, the facility presents a bold, confident form that reflects the professionalism and resilience of the players it serves. Carefully considered glazing lines provide controlled visual links to the indoor pitch, Dexcom Stadium itself, and the scenic backdrop of Lough Atalia-offering a constant visual reminder of purpose and place.
The interior design balances function, performance, and wellbeing. Every space within the centre from the physiotherapy rooms, changing facilities, hydrotherapy & sauna room, Canteen with a cooking demonstration kitchen, offices, S&C Athletic room & meeting rooms has been planned around efficiency, flow and player wellbeing. The palette is professional with hints of warmth, with durable finishes selected for high-traffic areas and a subtle identity approach to graphics & colours.
With a focus on maximising performance and recovery, the centre brings together cutting edge facilities with a clear architectural vision to provide Connacht Rugby with a purpose-built, high performance environment that supports both immediate results and long term goals.
