Connacht Rugby Sportsground Redevelopment

The home of Connacht Rugby is currently undergoing significant infrastructural redevelopment at their home on College Road, Galway.

VHA assisted in delivering the first phase of this project, which included the construction of a full-size, floodlit 4G synthetic rugby pitch. This 4G pitch, certified to World Rugby Standards, has enabled Connacht Rugby to play and train year-round on a consistent surface. Extensive research and consultation were conducted to determine and outline the best performance specifications for Connacht Rugby.

Phase 2 of this project will involve the creation of a new High-Performance Centre, featuring an indoor synthetic training pitch and office accommodation that includes player welfare facilities. Additionally, a new Spectator Stand will be built with terracing and seating across four levels. This stand will include player and match day facilities, a café, a sports merchandise shop, TV facilities, various hospitality areas, supporter facilities, and plant areas. The existing main vehicular and pedestrian access off College Road will be relocated, and a new concourse area will be constructed adjacent to the new Spectator Stand.
