The VHA Urban Design and Masterplanning team was appointed to prepare a strategic masterplan for lands at Ros an Mhíl, Co. Galway.
The lands are envisaged to form a key part of a future Ros an Mhíl port as a Strategic Enterprise Zone up to 2037. VHA, supporting a wider multi-disciplinary team, prepared a masterplan to serve the Off-Shore Wind (OSW) sector along the West Coast of Ireland. The Masterplan has been developed with the benefit of consultation and collaboration with OSW industry, the fishing community, other port authorities and stakeholders as well as State agencies and wind energy representation groups.
The VHA masterplan proposal provided varying layout scenarios, future proofing port related operational requirements between both fishing and OSW industries.
