About This Project
Carried out in a live hospital environment, the VHA team completed Phase 1 of the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing Catheterisation Department at St. James’ Hospital in Dublin.
The project will progress through 5 phases:
- Phase 1: The existing Cardiology and Respiratory areas, Waiting Area, Reporting Rooms, Offices, and Utility Rooms (clean and dirty) were demolished to construct a Recovery Room with two Isolation Rooms, 12 cubicle bays, a Preparation Room, a Scrub Area, Reception, and Nurse Station.
- Phase 2: A new Waiting Area, Reporting Offices, and a Dignity Room will be constructed.
- Phase 3: New Administration Offices will be developed.
- Phase 4: New Staff Changing Facilities will be created.
- Phase 5: A new Cath Lab, Scrub Area, Control Room, and Technical Room will be added.
Each phase addresses the hospital’s functional needs, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to ongoing services.
